Trim

Trim is usually made of aluminum or wood.Trim serves both a decorative and protective function.  Trim is usually made of aluminum, wood, or vinyl.  Trim along the edges of a building can improve its appearance.  The trim also helps keep rain and wind out of a building.

Wood trim also requires periodic painting and repairs.  If the trim is made of wood, there may be rotted wood.  Heimer Engineering evaluates the extent of any damage to the trim and provide you with an expense analysis of any needed repairs.

Aluminum and vinyl trim do not require frequent painting, and require less maintenance than wood trim.  Aluminum or vinyl trim is often placed over wood trim to cover underlying damage and reduce maintenance.  The wood soffits in a home are often covered with vinyl trim.  Click here for photographs of trim
